Rock Shield for 03-04 F350 April 15, 2016
Reviewer: Sparky83 from Virginia Beach
While I did love the quality of the rock shield. Nice thick steel to defend my Power Steering Oil Filter. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the lack of instructions on the installation of the 03-04 shield on their site. It looks like an easy install and for the most part it was, but I found it a little troublesome. In the instructions for the BPD oil coolers and Remote oil filter mounts it tell how to install the 05-07 shields (With Installed Pictures). But for 03-04 it only mentions as a side note *NOTE: 03-early 04 versions have a rock panel, too. It serves a similar purpose but looks and fits a bit differently. No pictures to be found other than of the product itself in purchasing section. Could not find the instructions at all for the 03-04 regardless of what tech article I went into in the Information Center.     For 05-07 you are to reinstall (per the instructions)all the factory bumper support brackets then install the shield. On the 03-04 I ended up leaving off the outer bumper support bracket. When I tried with all the factory brackets in place, I kept having interference issues between the outer bracket and the rock shield. They just wouldn't sit together. Maybe if the write up for the 03-04 had been included with the other write ups it wouldn't have been as problematic.    I would still recommend the shield though. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't been for the lack of instructions. Hopefully BPD will add an install tech article to their site for others.
